Cherry Orchards’ aim is to help adults recovering from the debilitating effect of any life crisis; this may include mental health or psychological problems, learning difficulties, individuals recovering from substance or alcohol abuse and any other form of emotional distress.
A time-limited placement, up to 2 years, supports individual development towards health, increased independence and self-fulfilment. The holistic and individually tailored therapeutic programme includes groups as well as one to one activities.
The community provides a warm and active environment with 24-hour live-in support in a peaceful semi-rural setting. We have a high quality organic diet and a rich cultural life.
The community is based on the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, as further developed by Dr. Karl Koenig, which recognises the unique identity of the individual and the importance of social relationships in maintaining good health. The community also recognises the spiritual needs of individuals and while based on a Christian outlook, is open to all faiths.
To support the above aims the community does not have televisions nor permit the abuse of any substances, or the consumption of alcohol on the premises.
While in the community individuals have the opportunity to regain trust in themselves, and increase confidence, take control of their lives and find the courage to move forward. For our latest Inspection Report please visit www.csci.org.uk or write to:
